Thanks for the reply!
I'll work a bit more on the glass texture then. I think for the Greenlight trailer (and as I've read in many posts on the internet), the main content should be focusing and presenting the gameplay. A second trailer is indeed a good idea and the additional game features will be listed on the Greenlight page as well.

So about the glass. I did too have a feeling that it is a little bit odd, just like something ambient thing as a tile. It's texture indeed gave it a little bit pool-like feeling. I have to say here, that I'm not a big 2D texture magician, so bear with me. I think giving it less opacity and a brighter look (similar to the previous one), will solve this feeling. I actually think that the cubic texture design fits the new graphics. Due the simple coloring of the graphics, a more detailed texture (thre previous one for example) could give a little bit off feeling in the player, that it just doesn't fit the environment. So with a comparison picture, I'm gonna show what is my new result: To see in bigger: i.imgur.com/13T9IIp.jpgTell me what you think. (Even if you still don't like it, don't sugarcoat me )

The links are great! I'm gonna see what I can do. (I tried the solid blueish texture, just looks stupid imo )

So the next iteration is here, the link definitely helped. First I tried the minecraft-like pixelated version, but that was just so odd to it's environment that I discarded that, and came up with a little fusion like result. The new block has a border to it, like a window, and has it's glass-window-like glow/reflection to it. It is more transparent than the previous ones, but I think it looks really nice next to rubys and gems. Let me know what you think Large image: i.imgur.com/ZHmpmSF.jpg

Looks great! You can instantly tell that its glass, much better than the blue blocks.

I'm glad you like it, and thanks for the help. I actually was trying to work with the bluish color, because it was similar to the 2D version. In the end, one should not fear to bring something new.

Seems like things are speeding up so let me give you guys a planned timetable: 01.12 - Create Steam concepts page I decided to post the game to the Steam Concepts section in order to build a little bit of community and to get some initial feedback about how the greenlight submission would go. I hope the reaction of the community will be positive. (I'm a little bit sceptic about this because only a few people browse the concepts pages but I'll try what I can) 01.19-20 - If everything goes well I'll be putting up the Greenlight pages on next week Thursday-Friday. (01.21 - Game is greenlit 01.22 - Game is up on Steam Just kidding, this will take up more time ) During the greenlight submission, I'll be working more on the game, and will release update for the current versions in the stores. The core features are done, only some minor adjustments are required, but they are necessary and I don't want to rush things. I'll keep you posted.

So the Sapphire Yours Steam Greenlight page is going to be live soon. I decided to publish the page 7:00am CET tomorrow (Saturday) as I'm trying to stay on the top of the recent submissions as long as possible (and maybe there are less submissions on the weekend). The links: For browser: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=846408217To open in Steam: steam://url/CommunityFilePage/846408217 (Sadly the forum doesn't support this kind of links) And the overview page is still there: sipkab.github.io/sapphireyours/Hope I can count on your votes, and maybe share it with your friends too. Let's do this!

Wow, good job!
I remember I used to play this game back in the day.
I was wondering, will you add new elements that are not in the vanilla game? I saw that the new 4.0 version has some additional elements and there's this game "Diamond caves 3" that has a lot of interesting elements that maybe could be implemented in this game.

Thanks Mr. President! The upcoming version contains a new gem (citrine) and now you will be able to put rubys, sapphires and citrines into stone walls. Also dispensers now can spawn emeralds, sapphires, rubys, citrines, rocks, bombs, bags and swamp drops. More game elements will come in future updates, for example the laser gun, and one time usable door. I will of course think and research for more ideas.

After not visiting this forum for over half a year I saw that there is a lot of progress made, good to see! I voted for the greenlight as I will definitely buy the game when it's out as it was a part of my childhood gaming. The graphics look good although I slightly prefer the old pure 2D art, but maybe that's just me. Isn't it an idea to include a 'retro look' that mimics the graphics of the old game?

Thanks for the vote, it's always encouraging to hear positive feedback. The old graphics are going to be included in the upcoming version. As the Greenlight is progressing slower than I expected, the desktop version will be available through itch.io (with a Demo version as well). (Still going to release on Steam if it gets greenlit) I'm planning to make it available around February 20. (Hope I can finish in time )

So guys, I'm not going to keep you waiting any longer. Since the Greenlight did not pass yet, I put the game up on itch.io. Hope you like it sipka.itch.io/sapphire-yoursThe mobile versions are going to be updated soon, and the game will be available in the Mac App Store as well. I planned to release on Game Jolt too, but it is going to be delayed a few weeks. If you had an idea for a level a long time ago, you can now make it and share it. Enjoy!

As a testament to the accuracy in which you've remade the game and my muscle memory I just wanna say that I've completed "Eat 16" on my first try. Now for a few minor suggestions: - When a level has a suspended game the first option should probably be to continue the suspended game and not to start anew. - When saving a demo please make it so that pressing enter on the demo name screen just saves the demo. - Can we have an option to select a song for the menu? These are just some minor inconveniences that I've encountered so far, but overall I would say your remake is fucking awesome!

I'm glad you like it These are not big changes you listed, I can make a quick fix in the upcoming days. (around Wednesday-Thursday) Good job on Eat 16 (Btw the menu music randomly changes after the title song is over, but I'll make sure you can set a default)

Is "send feedback" supposed to be feedback about a specific level? Such as if the level has a wrong difficulty? There appears to be something wrong with levels that are supposed to have a max amount of steps, e.g. "Search pattern" difficulty doesn't make sense when there's no step limit. Loving the game so far!

Send feedback is about the whole game, not just about a specific level.
I did not implement the step limit yet (neither the time limit), however included those levels as well. Might be in the quick fix.
Some of the guys uploaded a few levels to the hub, they did not choose a suitable difficulty for them, I'm gonna fix it this afternoon.
